Saxenhammer advises Cinemedia AG in the sale of Berliner Synchron GmbH to S&L Mediengruppe

Saxenhammer & Co. Corporate Finance GmbH (“Saxenhammer”) acted as the investment banker to Cinemedia AG („Cinemedia“) and Berliner Synchron GmbH (“Berliner Synchron”) for the divestment of Berliner Synchron GmbH to S&L Mediengruppe (“S&L”). The transaction closed in August 2016.

Berliner Synchron, founded in 1949, is one leading and long established dubbing studio in Germany with a track record of more than 8.000 dubbed films and over 60 full-time employees. The portfolio contains professional language adaptation and subtitling for international featured films, television productions and corporate media content as well as barrier-free localization solutions.

Cinemedia AG had to file for insolvency proceedings in self administration at the local court of Charlottenburg. Cinemedia AG is an Entry Standard listed company at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (WKN A1YDEE). Berliner Synchron GmbH and other affiliated companies were not affected by the insolvency proceedings.

Saxenhammer was retained by Cinemedia AG and Berliner Synchron GmbH to execute an international M&A process for the financing and the repositioning of the company.
